Upcoming Toyota SUV, in 2023

Toyota is planning to build a new third plant in India, which will be dedicated to the production of SUVs.

The first SUV to be built at the new plant will be a new model that is currently codenamed 340D

The 340D is expected to be a mid-size SUV that will be positioned between the Fortuner and the Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

The 340D is expected to be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces around 170 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque

The 340D is also expected to be available with a strong hybrid powertrain

The new plant is expected to have a production capacity of around 100,000 units per year

Toyota is expected to invest around Rs. 2,000 crore in the new plant.

The new plant is expected to be located in Karnataka, near Toyota's existing plant in Bidadi.
